Eastern Depot Restaurant
About This Spot
Stepping into Eastern Depot Restaurant is like slipping into the comfortable rhythm of a beloved neighborhood spot where the hum of friendly chatter fills the air and the scent of freshly brewed coffee mingles with the warm aroma of sizzling breakfast fare. Nestled in the heart of Gorham, this unassuming eatery invites you to slow down, take a breath, and savor the simple pleasure of good company paired with hearty, honest meals.
The atmosphere here moves at an easy, welcoming pace—neither rushed nor too quiet—inviting locals and travelers alike to settle in for a morning catch-up or a leisurely late brunch. The decor, charming in its straightforwardness, hints at a place that values substance and sincerity above all. You can tell from the bustle around the tables that Eastern Depot is a favorite stop, a spot where familiar faces are met with warm hellos and newcomers are quickly made to feel at home.
What makes dining here memorable isn’t just the satisfying plates set before you, but the way each bite speaks of care and tradition. The corned beef hash, heralded by many as a local treasure, arrives steaming and robust, a perfect balance of crisp edges and tender, real meat. Meanwhile, the breakfast offerings stretch beyond the expected — fluffy scrambled eggs, raspberry-glazed pancakes, and crepes drizzled with homemade blueberry sauce bring unexpected delights to the table, each dish crafted to coax out a moment of joy in the everyday.
Lunch embraces that same spirit of comfort with generously portioned sandwiches and burgers, often accompanied by crispy homemade onion rings or fresh-cut sides. Attention to detail is evident in the sauces and sides, like the house-made hollandaise or the tangy raspberry drizzle that elevates classic options with a bit of local flair.
What lingers most after a visit is the easy, genuine warmth of the staff and the rhythm of a place that feels rooted in community. Eastern Depot isn’t just about feeding you; it’s about offering a slice of morning or midday calm—a moment that invites you to pause, share a smile, and appreciate the flavors and faces that make small-town dining something quietly special.

I was told by another customer that was leaving to try the cornedbeef hash, said its the best around. So I obviously had to try it. Boy oh boy was I happy I did! I'll leave a picture. Yes I loved it. Everything was fresh and homemade and hot. Its real meat! 100 out of 10 Can't wait to go back. Staff was friendly. Was packed! And I see why. Definitely stop in if you're passing by. Only downside is its only open for breakfast (till noon I think) and its about 200+ miles away from me lol

Highly recommend! The food was hot. The service was excellent. The amount of food for the price was on par. My photos dont do it justice.

Really great place. I don’t usually write restaurants reviews but this one deserves a great one. Food was delicious. I mean delicious. Potato nachos were amazing, so crispy and full of flavor. Fish and chips, fish tacos and Cobb salad were devine. Great fish, crispy veggies and delicious house made dressing. Plus service: friendly and pleasant. It’s located short drive from “main” locations so it might not be first choice but it’s soooo worth it. I recommend

Unassuming diner with great food and very clean. You would never know this is the best place for homemade corned beef hash in all of NH. Ah-mazing! Cute decor. Friendly service. And delicious food. Doesn't get any better than that! Oh and the crepes are a must try... cuz who even has crepes on the menu anymore? This place! and they are so tasty

I had an Irish eggs Benedict which was very good. I was also pleasantly surprised that the home fries were deep fried instead of flat top grilled. They tasted great. Crisp on the outside and soft inside. I'll definitely visit for breakfast the next time I'm in Gorham.

Don't judge this place from the outside, amazing breakfast with a full bar and espresso machine! I recommend the breakfast bowl with the homemade corn beef!
